- The person in this position will be responsible for developmental screening of tracking of children ages 0-3 and will need to make determination for any further developmental diagnostic evaluations.
- Responsible for the coordination and facilitation of an interagency, multi-disciplinary team evaluation process within state mandated timeliness.
- Responsible for the coordination and development of the Individualized Family Service Plan process and necessary child and/or family plans with state guidelines.
- Responsible for planning activities necessary for transition of children into age 3 – 5 early intervention programs, as appropriate.
- Responsible for coordination and facilitation of parent/family training, parent/family counseling, and parent/family support activities.
- Acts as liaison to provider agencies and other generic resources.
- Responsible for any other general service coordination/case management activities designed to initiate, coordinate and monitor EI Services as well as Non-EI Services as well as documenting activities as defined by state regulations.
- Responsible for attending all Early Intervention training. (May be required to travel outside of Lawrence County.)
- This person may be assigned other related duties as may be requested or required by the Executive director and/or his designee.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Education (primary), Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation, or Early Childhood Development with minimum of 12 credit hours in social sciences.
- One year experience working in the field of special education, education, or early childhood or 1 year providing services to children.
- Experience in parent education/training.
- Substantial knowledge of child development and educational program planning as it would relate to a child’s developmental delays as well as at-risk factors.
- Knowledge of community resources and MH/DS system.
- Must be able to travel throughout Lawrence County on a regular basis plus throughout the state as required.
- Act 33, 34 and FBI Clearances.
